About the Client:
Our client is seeking a full-time systems administrator for a maintenance project that is based in Houston, Texas. SICE is a systems integrator focused on solving technological needs providing added-valued services to its clients. In the last three decades, SICE has been focused in the fields of Transportation, Tolling Systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Industrial and Environmental Control Systems and Telecommunications.
About the role:
For this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for the smooth operation of the roadside equipment tolling. The selected candidate shall be able to diagnose and solve software, hardware, and network issues that the system encounters while keeping track of its behavior, possible errors, system logs, generating periodic hardware and software status and performance reports. Some tasks will include:
* Preventative, Proactive and Reactive maintenance for tolling plazas, both software and hardware.
* Ticketing and work order management.
* Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with other teams to ensure the tolling system meets project requirements.
* Setup and configuration of Windows OS and Red Hat based systems.

Must-Haves:
* A good understanding of hardware and software interactions
* Experience with daily monitoring of software systems (this will be a tolling system) to ensure smooth operations of all severs, VMs and networks.
* Knowledge of Ticketing and work order management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Relevant experience in the tolling industry
* Linux systems administration skills
* Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V
* Familiarity with network protocols and security best practices
* Backup, cloning and restoration of physical and virtual machine.
* Database experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL)
