Job Description
A Midstream Oil & Gas client in Downtown, Houston is needing a Desktop Support Specialist. This person will be joining the desktop support team with 4 other specialists. They will be working on site 5 days a week, and this will be a long term contract. They will be responsible for troubleshooting desktop, mobile, and network issues. They should have previous experience identifying and resolving laptop/desktop issues and problems as appropriate, including network connectivity issues, Outlook configuration issues, email on mobile device, Multi Factor Authentication issues, etc.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of hands on Desktop Support Experience with some exposure to the oil and gas industry
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the company.
- Ability to use remote IT helpdesk tools to troubleshoot issues remotely on customers PCs
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required: Microsoft Office (Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). High degree of competency in troubleshooting Smartphones/Mobile devices, tablet devices, as well as various smartphone devices.
Preferred: Working knowledge of oil and gas industry application such as EAM, SAP, W Energy, Quorum TIPS.
- Ability to image new laptops/desktops and work with various hardware components (e.g. monitors, dock stations, electronic pens) to enable personal productivity
- Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced demanding work environment.
