Job Description
The Staff Accountant, Practice Accounting, reports to the Manager of Practice Accounting and supports the month-end close and financial reporting process within a specific functional pod on the operational accounting team. This role is responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations while ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. This entry-level role is an opportunity to build foundational accounting and analytical skills while contributing to the accuracy and timeliness of the organization’s financial results.
This is a hybrid role in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with monthly close activities, including consolidations and preparation of financial statements.
Support the Senior Accountant and Manager in variance analysis and financial reviews.
Maintain organized supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
Assist in preparing schedules and analyses for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Participate in implementing new accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Build strong working relationships with peers, practice staff, and internal finance teams.
Support ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Required Skills & Experience
0-4+ years of accounting experience
Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
Working knowledge of Workday or other ERP platforms is a plus
Active CPA license or working toward CPA license preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required (Master's degree preferred)
