Job Description
We are looking for a Director of Engineering to serve as the senior engineering lead for a large-scale transportation and infrastructure program, providing technical guidance and strategic input throughout project planning, design, and execution. Partner with internal stakeholders, public-sector agencies, consultants, and project teams to review engineering recommendations, advise on complex technical decisions, and ensure projects remain aligned with program goals. Lead discussions, facilitate collaboration across multiple groups, troubleshoot engineering challenges, and provide solutions that drive successful project delivery. This individual will be a highly visible leader who influences decisions, builds consensus among stakeholders, and serves as a trusted advisor on transportation, roadway, transit, and infrastructure initiatives without having direct people management responsibilities.

Required Skills & Experience
10+ years of engineering experience within Transportation or Civil Engineering
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Experience working directly with government agencies, public works departments, municipalities, DOTs, or other public-sector organizations.
Proven ability to serve as a senior technical advisor and guide complex engineering and infrastructure programs
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to lead discussions, drive consensus, and make recommendations without direct authority
Executive presence and strong communication skills with the confidence to lead meetings and influence decision-making among senior leaders, consultants, and government partners.
