Job Description

A client is seeking a Sr Director leader to join their group. This leader will oversee end-to-end engineering strategy and delivery across a portfolio of ~25 digital applications, including web, mobile, ecommerce, and marketing/media platforms built across Adobe ecosystems, native mobile applications (iOS), and a .NET-based backend. They will operate in a hybrid cloud environment (GCP/Azure/AWS), supporting complex integrations across SaaS platforms and other third-party systems. The role also includes oversight of data environments leveraging technologies like Oracle and MongoDB, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability across the digital ecosystem.

On a day-to-day basis, this individual will lead a multi-layered organization of ~120 engineers, directors, and managers, driving team structure, pod rationalization, and overall engineering output. They will own the evolution of the ecommerce platform, including integration and optimization of core capabilities such as cart, checkout, and subscription services, while leading efforts to migrate legacy systems into modern SaaS and cloud-native architectures.

A significant portion of the role will involve acting as the executive engineering owner for key technology partners, including Adobe (digital + marketing stack), VTEX, and other SaaS and integration vendors. They will ensure alignment across platform performance, integration health, and long-term scalability while maintaining strong cross-functional partnerships with product, marketing, and business stakeholders.

This leader will also define and execute the organization’s AI strategy as it relates to engineering, embedding AI into the SDLC and developer workflows to improve productivity, automate manual processes, and drive cost efficiencies. This includes partnering closely with internal AI platform teams delivering APIs and capabilities that will be integrated into customer-facing applications.

Additionally, this role is responsible for setting technical direction across cloud architecture, backend systems, and data platforms, ensuring strong system resiliency, disaster recovery, and high-performing applications. While not hands-on, they will guide architectural decisions, enforce engineering best practices, and ensure teams are operating efficiently across a highly integrated, enterprise-scale ecosystem.
