Job Description

The Tool & Die Machinist will support manufacturing operations by building, repairing, modifying, and maintaining tooling, fixtures, molds, and production equipment. This role is responsible for operating manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, and band saws to fabricate components from raw materials and restore worn or damaged tooling. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting drawings and schematics, taking measurements with precision instruments, performing preventative maintenance on molds and tooling, troubleshooting tooling issues that impact production, and producing custom solutions to support quality and manufacturing improvements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on machinist with strong manual machining experience, knowledge of material properties and shop mathematics, and the ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced production environment.

Required Skills & Experience

-Experience operating manual machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and saws.
-Ability to fabricate parts, fixtures, and tooling from a concept, sketch, or drawing.
-Proficiency using precision measuring tools including calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
-Strong understanding of material properties and machining processes.
-Experience supporting production through tooling repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance.
