Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Patient Services Representative for a client in Nashville, TN. You’ll play a key role in managing the front-end and back-end financial workflows in a busy oncology clinic. You’ll ensure patient insurance and eligibility details are accurate while supporting billing, claims, and payment processing. A typical day includes verifying coverage, collecting payments, submitting claims, and following up on outstanding accounts. You’ll also serve as a resource for patients and families, helping them understand their financial responsibilities and navigate insurance questions. This role requires strong attention to detail and a patient-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and obtain pre-authorizations/referrals
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments at time of service
- Submit insurance claims and follow up on denials, delays, or outstanding balances
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and ensure accurate account posting
- Handle patient billing inquiries and resolve account discrepancies or complaints
- Manage account follow-ups and collections to maintain current balances
- Assist patients with financial counseling and connect them to community resources when needed
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance data in the system

Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5+ years of medical business office or healthcare administrative experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with insurance verification, billing, and claims processing
- Strong understanding of patient financials (co-pays, deductibles, EOBs, etc.)
- Ability to handle patient interactions and resolve billing/insurance questions
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Oncology or specialty clinic experience
- Experience with patient financial counseling or payment plan setup
- Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare billing platforms
- Experience working with community resource coordination (housing, financial aid, etc.)
