Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Software Asset Management Analyst for a large manufacturing organization with a complex and diverse software landscape. This individual will own the end-to-end cataloging, validation, and documentation of enterprise software, ensuring compliance, reducing redundancy, and establishing scalable processes for license and user management.
The ideal candidate is part technologist, part process builder, and part diplomat — someone who can navigate plant-floor realities, partner cross-functionally, and bring structure to an environment with significant software sprawl. This role is highly visible, business-impacting, and offers a strong growth path into a Lead or Process Specialist role within Software Asset Management. Daily, this individual will be responsible but not limited to the below:
• Validate and maintain a centralized software catalog across the enterprise
• Identify unused, expiring, shadow IT, or redundant applications
• Track software usage, ownership, versions, and licensing
• Assign, reclaim, and optimize licenses during onboarding and offboarding
• Partner with IT, Security, Procurement, and Plant leadership on software governance
• Analyze software overlap and recommend consolidation opportunities
• Document software processes, standards, and lifecycle workflows
• Maintain audit-ready documentation (entitlements, deployments, rationale)
• Support cost optimization by identifying shelfware and underutilized licenses
• Contribute to intake and new-user software provisioning processes

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.To learn more about how we collect, keep, and process your private information, please review Insight Global's Workforce Privacy Policy: https://insightglobal.com/workforce-privacy-policy/.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with software discovery and inventory tools (SCCM, Intune, Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow, or similar)
• Ability to reconcile installations vs. entitlements and identify compliance gaps
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data cleansing, analysis)
• Experience creating and maintaining software catalogs and inventories (ITSM use in Fresh Service, ServiceNow, etc)
• Strong process and technical documentation skills (Word, Confluence)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Manufacturing, engineering, or OT/plant-floor exposure
• Familiarity with ICS, SCADA, MES, or HMI environments
• Experience with major manufacturing vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Siemens, Rockwell, Autodesk)

• Experience building executive-level dashboards or summaries
