Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Integration Developer to design, build, and support laboratory data integrations between external lab systems and internal platforms. This role is heavily focused on file-based and HL7 integrations, advanced data transformation, and independent execution using an integration engine (primarily Mirth Connect). This is not a hospital-interface–centric role.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and support HL7, API, and file-based integrations using an integration engine
Transform, validate, route, and manipulate inbound and outbound lab data (e.g., HL7/flat files to JSON)
Develop and support SMTP/file-drop workflows processed through Mirth
Troubleshoot and resolve data flow, interface, and production issues
Support integration testing, validation, and production releases
Work from documented specifications and tickets provided by LIG Project Managers
Support ongoing production integrations under defined SLAs
Balance workload between new development (~75%) and maintenance (~25%)
Collaborate internally with LIS teams and LIG PMs (no external-facing meetings)

Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have Qualifications
Senior-level integration development experience with minimal need for supervision
Strong hands-on experience with Mirth Connect
Advanced JavaScript for scripting and data transformation
Experience with HL7, file-based integrations, transformations, and message routing
LIS (Lab Information System) experience
Strong data handling, validation, and troubleshooting skills
Basic working knowledge of SQL
Experience supporting production integrations in a remote environment
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Nice-to-Have / Plusses
Experience with Rhapsody, CorePoint, or similar integration engines
Prior lab-focused (non-hospital) integration experience
Experience working with offshore or distributed teams
