Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer will serve as the primary Tier 3 escalation point for all network and wireless issues impacting the rollout and stabilization of an in-house, AI-enabled Push-to-Talk assistant for stores, running on MPOS devices. This role is highly operational and reactive—focused on resolving live store issues during installation waves, deployment bridges, and post-launch store support.
Day-to-day work includes troubleshooting complex end-to-end issues across Aruba wireless (RF, roaming, SNR/RSSI, channel utilization), Juniper switching, and Palo Alto CloudGenix SD-WAN. The engineer will analyze voice traffic performance (SIP/RTP), QoS behavior, jitter, latency, and packet flow from device → AP → LAN → WAN → application. They will own escalations, run high-pressure incident bridges, and communicate updates clearly to retail operations and engineering leaders.
The engineer will also work with Ekahau to validate RF coverage, interpret heatmaps, confirm voice survey thresholds, and ensure the wireless environment meets real-time voice requirements. While the role is not a project management function, it involves coordinating with store deployment partners, facilitating network readiness for installs, and documenting findings, configs, and knowledge-transfer materials in ServiceNow. In-office presence is preferred for rapid onboarding, shadowing, and faster support during the ongoing rollout.
