Job Description

A healthcare employer is hiring for a Director of IT Operations who will lead the IT infrastructure engineering roadmap execution for projects at 110 practice locations in Florida. Those practices were recently acquired with significant technical debt. Immediate priorities may include redesigning a data center which needs 2/3 of its servers to be decommissioned and replaced before end of year, migration to Zoom, Windows 10-11 refresh, rearchitecting citrix, among other major priorities. This person will manage 3-5 direct reports.

The Director, IT Operations will provide strategic and hands-on leadership of the Florida practice's IT Operations function, including the management of the Orlando datacenter, and infrastructure management at all 100+ practice locations. This role will ensure reliable operations, timely escalation of field support, and the successful delivery of infrastructure and cloud projects across the organization. The Director will combine strong people leadership with deep technical expertise in infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms to drive operational excellence, standardization, and scalability in support of the company's mission.
· Lead the technical strategy, infrastructure management, and IT project execution for the entire practice in Florida.
· Partner with the VP, IT Support and Director, IT Operations, and Sr. Director, IT Security to define and execute the practice's IT strategy aligned to company priorities.
· Lead field support team members, ensuring successful onsite resolution of issues, and boots on the ground for project execution related tasks.
· Partner with Network Operations Center team, utilizing RMM tools to manage, monitor, patch, and respond to alerts across all practice infrastructure, including the datacenter.
· Oversee tier 3 incident escalation processes for the practice, ensuring timely resolution of complex infrastructure and service-impacting issues.
· Oversee and assist with the management of the PC lifecycle refresh process at the Florida practice locations.
· Manage IT Change Management, Major Incident Management, and Problem Management for the practice, aligning with the company's process.
· Manage the practice's IT business continuity and disaster recover planning, including backup and recovery plans.
· Direct the delivery of IT infrastructure, cloud, and other projects at the practice ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, and quality targets.
· Define, implement, and continuously improve IT operations policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high availability, security, and resilience.
· Drive effective communication and collaboration between Florida practice's IT resources and the centralized company's support team.
· Establish performance metrics and reporting to measure the effectiveness of the practice's IT Operations and demonstrate value to the enterprise.
· Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets for infrastructure and cloud services related to the Florida practice.

Required Skills & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
· 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT Operations, including management of multi-disciplinary teams, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
· Expertise in M365 platform, cloud backup solutions, and system monitoring tools
· Strong technical expertise across infrastructure (networking, servers, storage), cloud services (AWS, Azure, similar), and IT operations tooling
· Datacenter management experience, including network architecture, Vmware, & hybrid cloud environments
· Skilled in disaster recovery planning, system performance optimization, and operational resiliency
· Excellent people leadership skills
· Outstanding communication skills
· Superior verbal and written communication skills.
· Willingness to stay current with emerging networking technologies and industry trends.
· Must reside in Nashville, TN, Fort Myers, FL or Miami/Ft Lauderdale area
Comfortable with up to 30% travel around Florida and a hybrid working model
