We are looking for a talented and proactive Physical Security Systems Engineer to join our security team. This position involves designing, implementing, and maintaining physical security systems to safeguard our facilities, assets, and personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of security technologies and be able to apply this expertise to enhance our security infrastructure in a rapidly growing company.
This is an on-site role based in Memphis, Tennessee, or the San Francisco, California area, and requires regular travel to all client locations.
Responsibilities:
Create detailed plans for installing physical security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection, and alarms.
Work with InfoSec, IT, and facility management teams to integrate security hardware with existing systems.
Monitor and manage the security network infrastructure.
Evaluate and upgrade security systems as needed.
Perform preventive maintenance to keep security equipment in top condition.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues quickly to reduce downtime.
Keep thorough records of all service and maintenance activities.
Conduct security audits to find and address vulnerabilities.
Recommend and implement solutions to improve security measures.
Coordinate with vendors for security hardware procurement, ensuring compliance with standards and budgets.
Oversee relationships with external contractors for installation and maintenance.
Train staff on new security systems.
Ensure all security installations comply with regulations.
Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, maintenance schedules, and incident responses.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience in physical security systems design.
Proven experience with CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
Experience with CAD software and reading architectural drawings.
Familiarity with Genetec software.
Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Experience with integrated security systems and network architecture.
Knowledge of current security technology trends.
Certifications like CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
