Insight Global is looking for a Automation Project Manager to work on site in La Vergne, Tennessee for a global fortune 500 technology manufacturing & design company that is building cloud computing technologies for the world's largest search engine, online retailer and social media companies and working in the computer and electronics manufacturing industry. We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Automation Project Manager to lead the execution of automation projects supporting our cloud infrastructure and server manufacturing operations in the Nashville area. This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring the successful delivery of automation systems that enhance production efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, manage, and execute automation projects supporting server assembly, PCB integration, test, and packaging processes.
Collaborate with process engineers, equipment vendors, and manufacturing teams to define project scopes, requirements, and deliverables.
Coordinate all phases of the project lifecycle including design reviews, procurement, integration, installation, validation, and handover.
Manage schedules, resources, and budgets across multiple concurrent automation projects.
Interface with external integrators and suppliers to ensure technical alignment, delivery timelines, and successful FAT/SAT execution.
Drive risk management, issue resolution, and change control processes throughout the project.
Track project KPIs and report progress to internal stakeholders and leadership.
Ensure compliance with all safety, ESD, and quality standards relevant to electronics and server manufacturing environments.
Support the development and documentation of standard work, best practices, and continuous improvement opportunities.

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field).
5+ years of experience in automation, manufacturing, or controls engineering.
2+ years of direct project management experience within an electronics or hardware manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of factory automation systems, including PLCs, robotics, vision systems, conveyors, and end-of-line testing.
Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and lead cross-functional project teams.
Familiarity with electronics assembly processes such as SMT, chassis build, test, and system-level integration.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
PMP certification or formal training in project management.
Experience in cloud hardware, data center equipment, or server manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of MES, SCADA, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Lean Six Sigma certification or experience in continuous improvement initiatives.
