Job Description

System Overhaul:
Understand and rewrite the existing complex Excel spreadsheets used for foundation and construction calculations.
Simplify the user interface and overall process to make it more efficient and less fragile, probably a 2-3 year undertaking
Software Development:
Create and maintain a library of custom engineering and construction programs/software, primarily using Excel.
Update and enhance these programs/software regularly.
Training:
Provide user training for new team members.
Conduct training sessions when new versions, updates, or enhancements are implemented.
Research & Development:
Perform R&D functions, including documenting, building, and executing tests on materials to support engineering programming.
Travel: Be prepared and willing for overnight travel as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering preferred)
- Willing to work towards obtaining PE license
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to read and interpret building codes and architectural plans.
- Ability to perform various foundational engineering calculations.
Proficient using programs such as, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite & Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Productivity programs such as Planner, Project, & SharePoint.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- EIT certification
- PE License
- C++ language experience
- Engineer with computer science type background highly preferred
