Job Description

An employer is looking to hire a Paralegal to join the law firm to support administrative functions. This role involves a variety of tasks throughout the day, including data entry, typing documents, transcribing information, and entering pleading information into templates. The person will handle appointment scheduling, calendar management, and take or make calls, including answering the phone occasionally. They will work on specific files, check, and update them, and order medical records if necessary. Additionally, they may need to call clients for additional information or interviews. Responsibilities also include e-filing with the court, talking to and interviewing clients, summarizing depositions and medical records, preparing complaints, and answering interrogatories.

Required Skills & Experience

- 1-2 years of experience in a law firm as a paralegal or legal assistant
- Must be extremely professional and have excellent customer service/communication
- Excellent typing skills (65-70 WPM) comfortable with dictation
- Must be detail oriented, take initiative, and learn quickly
- Should be familiar with legal terminology, pleadings (lawsuits, motions), and general knowledge of trials/cases
