Job Description

The Financial Counseling Supervisor is dedicated to upholding consistent guidelines for financial counseling, financial assistance, and collection practices for all medically necessary services while ensuring access for all patients.

Essential Functions:

* Manage and contribute to the development of best practice for the daily operations of all financial counselors

including but not limited to:

- Running Daily Schedules for consults, new/added procedures

- Completing VOB and cost estimates

- Applying for financial assistance

- Applying for Medicaid/Medi-Cal

- Coordinate with Early out collections partner for payment plan and payment financing options

* Responsible for monitoring weekly and monthly collections of all financial counselors for patient balances owed by

patients.

* Monitor and track monthly financial assistance trends for applications and approvals within Assist Point.

* Ability to intervene in crisis situations - quickly and independently discerning financial interventions required - using

sound analysis, professional judgment, ethical practice, and common sense.

* Lead monthly check in meeting with all staff members both individually and in group setting to review performance

and establish goals moving forward.

* Complete all performance evaluation and improvement plans.

* Work closely with training team for new hire onboarding.

* Create training policies for financial counseling workflows

* Deliver monthly KPI's to manager on time for prior month.

* Manage and approve all team member timecards, PTO, etc.



***This position will be based out of Nashville, TN, but will require travel throughout the US (10-20%).***

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience in Medical Oncology office setting

- 3+ years of management experience dealing with patient assistance, free drug assistance, charity care, Medicaid applications, open enrollment, and point of service collections.

Working knowledge of medical terminology as well as ICD-9 and CPT codes.

* Strong written/verbal communication, financial assessment, advocacy and crisis response skills, applied within established guidelines of the center.

* Strong competency of Microsoft Word, Power point and Excel

* Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
