Job Description
Insight Global's client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support their Nuclear group. They will need to be in either Knoxville or Chattanooga, TN, and be open to working a hybrid work schedule. They will be responsible for doing mechanical design for Nuclear Power Plants. The design will include P&ID, piping layouts, tank design, vessel design, single-phase, two-phase, motor design, ducting design, pumps, fans, 3D modeling, etc. Additionally, they will conduct site walk-downs, equipment specifications, and direct overall project design and design documentation. They will assist in project proposals regarding scope, schedules, and budgets. Projects that this team typically works on are for upgrades/modifications to equipment in an existing nuclear plant, so the engineer will also assist with identifying potential upgrades and make suggestions on new equipment to be installed/designed.
Required Skills & Experience
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering (Must be ABET Accredited )
- 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering/Design (piping design, P&ID design, duct design, etc.)
- Experience doing design for nuclear plants and adhering to nuclear standards.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- P.E. or EIT
- Experience using Caesar II or AutoPIPE
