Job Description
Insight Global's utility client is looking for a Remote Distribution Project Manager to join their team. For candidates to be considered for this opportunity, they must be located w/in a 5-hour driving radius of NC or VA. This Project Manager will be overseeing a joint-use make-ready project for one of their largest clients, where 3rd party carrier companies that are trying to install fiber for customers, put in requests to add fiber optic cables to existing distribution poles. Once the requests come through, this team will go out to the distribution poles/lines and inspect to ensure the carriers can add their fiber optic cables. If the line/poles don't pass inspection, the Project Team will re-design the pole/line to ensure it meets standards before the fiber optic cables can be installed. The Project Manager will be responsible for directing project activities from project conception to completion, which will include planning, design, construction, start-up, commissioning, and close-out. They will be responsible for defining project scope, quality plans, schedules, budgets, deliverables, etc. This individual will also have 3-4 direct reports, so will also be responsible for team development and employee satisfaction. (Travel will be less than 10%, all within NC/VA).
Additional responsibilities include:
* Interfacing with customers to provide design data and project updates.
* Administer project setups, invoice reviews, time entry approvals, and project rate sheets.
* Identify project risks, quality standards, execution plans, etc.
* Direct and lead all efforts of the project team.
Required Skills & Experience
* 2+ years of experience in Distribution Engineering/Design -- (pole relocations, overhead, underground, etc.)
* 5+ years of experience in Project Management
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management/business focus
* Experience leading distribution design/engineering teams or managing distribution design projects.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* PE/EIT
* PMP/MBA
* Fiber optic engineering/design experience
