Job Description

Position Summary
The Production Test Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and validating compressor systems, blowers, and dryers to ensure they meet performance, quality, and safety standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical aptitude, experience with rotating equipment, and the ability to collect and analyze test data. The ideal candidate enjoys diagnosing issues, working with industrial equipment, and ensuring products are ready for customer use.

Responsibilities
• Perform mechanical testing on compressors, blowers, dryers, and related equipment.
• Conduct precision laser shaft alignment on rotating equipment.
• Measure and record vibration, pressure, and temperature data during testing.
• Set up and connect mechanical and electrical systems for testing, including auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes of test failures.
• Generate detailed test reports and accurately document test results.
• Maintain, calibrate, and verify testing equipment.
• Communicate test findings and improvement recommendations to engineering and production teams.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement efforts within manufacturing and test operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• High school diploma or GED (Associate degree or technical training preferred).
• 3+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining industrial equipment.
• Experience with rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, blowers, motors, or similar machinery.
• Ability to collect and interpret vibration, pressure, and temperature data.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience using Windows-based computer systems for documentation and reporting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience testing centrifugal compressors, blowers, or dryers.
• Hands-on experience using laser shaft alignment equipment.
• Familiarity with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Experience with soft starters, water-cooling systems, or other auxiliary equipment.
• Previous manufacturing, production testing, or test lab experience.
• Technical certificate or Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
