Job Description

Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead the installation, modification, and commissioning of a large industrial machine being transferred from France to the United States. This individual will oversee the equipment reassembly process, ensure all mechanical systems meet applicable U.S. codes and standards, and support upgrades required to optimize performance and reliability. After this project, there will be more opportunity for more projects in the Mechanical and Robotics field.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the installation and mechanical reassembly of industrial equipment shipped from an overseas facility.
Evaluate existing machine designs and implement modifications to ensure compliance with U.S. safety and regulatory requirements.
Develop and execute equipment upgrade plans to improve functionality, performance, and maintainability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, contractors, and technicians throughout installation and startup activities.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly, testing, and commissioning phases.
Lead commissioning activities, including equipment validation, performance testing, and operational acceptance.
Create and maintain engineering documentation, procedures, and drawings related to equipment modifications and installation.

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
5-10 years of experience with industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment, or capital projects.
Experience installing, modifying, and commissioning industrial equipment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and U.S. safety/code requirements.
Ability to work cross-functionally with vendors, contractors, and operations teams.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience relocating or upgrading manufacturing equipment.
Robotics or industrial automation experience.
CAD/design experience and familiarity with equipment modifications.
