Job Description
As a Telecommunications Technician, you will apply your basic knowledge of all areas of telecommunications and perform maintenance on telecommunications equipment. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Installing and wiring routers/switches, coordinating for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Install and provision of transport equipment and ethernet services supporting MPLS network
• Testing, deployment, and documentation supporting system upgrades, patches, and maintenance window activities.
• Respond to system and service outages as well as storm/disaster support
• Participate in maintenance window cutovers and system grooms
• Installation and wiring of routers/switches along with coordination with multiple groups for configuration and troubleshooting.
• Effectively identifies and utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches to problems encountered in work assignments.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), including provisioning and configuring IP phones, performing adds, moves, and changes (MACs), troubleshooting voice and telephony-related issues, and supporting enterprise VoIP services.
This position can pay $25-$35/hr based on experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• Working knowledge of fiber circuits, MPLS and other LAN/WAN data circuits.
• Skilled in the termination and troubleshooting of various cabling types to include fiber.
• Knowledge of fiber terminations, data circuits, 48V and 135Vdc power plants.
• Experience with DC plant systems, LAN and wireless testing, fiber optic test equipment, and various cabling types.
• Familiarity with cable identification, terminating cables, and Channel Banks.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), including the ability to access and navigate the GUI, provision and configure IP phones, perform adds, moves, and changes (MACs), manage user and device settings, and troubleshoot voice and telephony-related issues in an enterprise environment. (Or must be willing to learn)
• Prioritize safety, environmental consciousness, and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift 45 pounds and distinguish colors.
• Valid driver's license.
• Proficient with Ethernet circuits and DWDM systems.
• Available for call outs, weekend work, occasional overtime, and travel.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Electrical/Electronic background and SCADA knowledge are a plus.
