Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Oracle APEX Engineer to support application development efforts in a South Carolina-based engineering and manufacturing environment. This direct hire role will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining complex Manufacturing Execution Systems. This role provides expertise across the full software development lifecycle and re-engineering of the architecture level when needed, with a focus on Oracle APEX platforms supporting operational and product-driven systems.
Responsibilities Include:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy on-premises web applications using Oracle APEX
- Develop and maintain advanced SQL and PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to application performance, database performance, and system integrations
- Enhance and support existing Oracle APEX applications to ensure stability, scalability, and performance
- Build and maintain integrations using RESTful APIs and web services
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and development standards
- Operate within an Agile or iterative development framework
The compensation range for this position is $130,000-175,000 depending on experience.

Required Skills & Experience

- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance if needed
- 10+ years of software development experience with a focus on Oracle technologies with a specific focus on Oracle APEX
- Experience developing, automating, and modernizing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) based platforms
- Strong experience with Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c or newer), including SQL and PL/SQL
- Hands-on experience developing applications in Oracle APEX (20.x or later preferred)
- Solid understanding of relational database design and data modeling
- Experience with one or more additional programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C/C++)
- Willingness to work onsite in Summerville, SC. The role will start fully onsite, but may shift to some Hybrid capacity. There will also be some travel (2-3 weeks at the start) to Pittsburgh as needed.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with PLM platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, including integrations or customizations
- Familiarity with enterprise data models, workflows, or API frameworks related to PLM systems
- Experience customizing Oracle APEX applications using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Exposure to version control tools such as Git
- Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP)
