Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support electrical work at a hydro generation plant for a large utility client. This role is supporting a high volume of capital and maintenance projects. The hiring manager is open to lower‑level engineers depending on experience.

Responsibilities:
Provide electrical engineering support for hydroelectric power plants
Partner with project managers to help define scope and solve electrical issues
Support multiple projects at the same time across electrical and hydro systems
Perform routine to moderately complex electrical engineering analysis
Prepare and review technical documentation
Review electrical designs and drawings
Support projects through design, installation, and commissioning
Verify drawings and specifications match field conditions

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Other degrees considered if holding a PE license
Experience supporting electrical systems in a power plant or utility environment
Familiarity with high-voltage electrical equipment (breakers, transformers, generators)
Experience supporting projects from design through commissioning
Willingness to work full-time onsite and travel locally between hydro sites

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to pursue PE
Experience with power system studies (short circuit, arc flash, coordination)
Experience using ETAP or SKM
