Job Description

Role Overview

Salary Range - $100,000–$120,000

The Estimator will be responsible for independently preparing complete, accurate estimates for heavy civil construction projects. This role requires an estimator who can step in immediately and perform without ramp‑up or software training.

The ideal candidate has strong earthwork and site civil estimating experience, is comfortable working autonomously, and has extensive experience working directly with subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare full‑scope estimates for heavy civil and earthwork projects
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
- Build and price bids with minimal oversight
- Conduct subcontractor outreach, solicitation, vetting, and follow‑up
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports
- Write detailed scopes of work, inclusions, exclusions, and proposal terms
- Attend site walks, pre‑bid meetings, and select owner or GC meetings
- Participate in estimating reviews and bid handoffs to project teams
- Maintain estimating data and proposal documentation in internal systems
- Travel to job sites as needed (mileage reimbursed)

Required Skills & Experience

Required Experience & Qualifications
3-5+ years of HCSS HeavyBid and or AGTEK
3–5+ years of heavy civil estimating experience
GC‑side estimating experience
Proven ability to independently produce complete bids
Strong subcontractor relationship management skills
Ability to work with minimal oversight once established

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working on the subcontractor side of the industry
Experience supporting large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects
