Job Description

The Metrology Engineer leads precision measurement activities across a variety of products and mating components, performing and guiding dimensional inspections using established or newly developed gaging methods. They accurately interpret and apply GD&T, advising design and engineering teams as needed to ensure proper measurement intent. The role is responsible for the operation, calibration, and maintenance of metrology equipment, including CMMs and specialized measurement systems. Working closely with metrology leadership, the engineer helps identify technology trends, improve measurement methods, and support long‑term metrology planning. They collaborate with production, product, and application engineering teams to support product validation and new business launches by developing new gages and measurement techniques. The position also supports technician training and secures appropriate lab resources to meet project and production demands.

Required Skills & Experience

BS in Engineering (STEM) or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
~5 years’ experience
Demonstrated expertise with metrology equipment, and data acquisition systems. Ability to troubleshoot problems with hardware and software
Demonstrated expertise in programming of metrology equipment
Recognized expertise with the application and interpretation of GD&T; gaging development
Demonstrated skill with mechanical and electrical systems
Experience with quality management systems, specifically TS16949 (ISO9001)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of bearing design, applications, manufacturing, and/or damage analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team skills
TSK Calypso programming knowledge is a plus
