Job Description
We are seeking a Field Lead / Cabling Foreman to support data center infrastructure projects. This role is hands-on and field-based, focused on leading cabling crews, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring quality work across fiber and network cabling installations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, experience guiding small teams, and enjoys being active on-site rather than working strictly from an office.
This is a contract role with the expectation that the individual will support additional sites and travel after the initial assignment period.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day field activities for cabling crews on data center projects
Perform and oversee fiber installation, splicing, testing, and labeling work
Coordinate daily work plans, task assignments, and material needs
Ensure work meets project standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations
Support system integrations and basic testing efforts as part of larger deployments
Communicate progress, issues, and needs to project leadership
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving field-level issues quickly
Travel to additional data center sites as project needs evolve after the first 6–7 months

Required Skills & Experience
Desired Skills:
Data Center Cabling Experience: Hands-on experience supporting data center network or fiber cabling projects in live environments.
OSP / Fiber Background: Working knowledge of outside plant fiber cabling, including splicing, testing, labeling, and fiber acceptance.
Field Leadership: Experience leading small crews in the field, acting as a lead technician or foreman, and coordinating daily work activities.
Hands-On Technical Work: Comfortable performing cabling, testing, and troubleshooting alongside the crew when needed.
Field Experience: 2–3+ years working in the field with clear progression from installer or technician into a lead or foreman-style role.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel to other project sites after the initial 6–7 months on assignment.
