Mechanical Design Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support one of its leading clients in the tire manufacturing industry in Greenville, SC. This role is heavily focused on the design of large-scale industrial equipment, with primary responsibilities centered around machine design. The engineer will contribute hands-on design work using SolidWorks (or a comparable CAD platform) while also helping to coordinate and oversee design efforts across the broader team. In addition to technical design responsibilities, this position requires some understanding of project execution, including assessing job scope, timelines, cost, and potential safety risks associated with equipment and processes. The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical expertise and project management experience, enabling them to effectively support projects from concept through completion.
This is a highly collaborative role that works closely with cross-functional teams, making strong communication skills essential for maintaining alignment and keeping projects on track. Experience with Siemens TeamCenter is a plus, though not required. Standard hours for this role are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM; however, flexibility is required to support weekends or extended hours during plant shutdowns. - Associates or Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
- 4+ years' experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering role
- Experience with 3D Design in Solidworks
- Experience working with external vendors, contractors, and overseeing design teams
- Strong internal and external communication

• Project Management background
• Knowledgeable with AutoCAD or Draft Sight 2D
• Siemens Teamcenter experience
