Summary
The Lead Project Engineer for Gas Turbine and Combined-Cycle Upgrades is responsible for managing the technical execution of upgrades, modifications, and enhancements for gas turbines and associated power plant systems. This role provides end-to-end project engineering leadership, from proposal through installation and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. The engineer coordinates across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, field services, and customer teams to define technical scope, manage deliverables, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include schedule and cost management, technical documentation, supplier coordination, risk management, and supporting field installation and commissioning. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers and promoting quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, controls, or related field) or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of engineering or field experience in power generation, with direct exposure to gas turbines and combined-cycle plant operations
• Proven project engineering experience: schedule management, scope control, cost forecasting, risk management, and cross-functional coordination
• Ability to interpret and produce engineering documentation (such as P&IDs, one-line diagrams, mechanical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials)
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed (Less than 10%)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Plusses
• Strong understanding of how gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines, and balance-of-plant systems interact within a combined-cycle plant
• Working knowledge of power plant electrical systems (excitation, generator protection, synchronization, switchgear, motor control centers, and one-line diagrams)
• Familiarity with plant control and communication systems (such as DCS, PLC, turbine controls, and industrial networks)
• Experience preparing or validating field installation packages and supporting resolution of site technical issues
• Experience with configuration control, change management, and design reviews
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across customer and internal teams
