Job Description

**This is a heavy technical position. This person will not be responsible for business development. They will primarily be responsible for the design of projects.**

Perform structural design & analysis, prepare reports, perform condition assessments, prepare construction plans & specifications.
Mentor engineers and designers.
Lead the technical development program for the department.
Lead and coordinated the Revit development program for the department.
Communicate with department staff and manage workload.
Coordinated between the structural department and other disciplines.
Support proposal preparation: assist with development of the scope of work, schedule and budget.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Assist with the preparation of opinions of cost.
Prepare and review drawings prepared using AutoCAD and Revit.
Manage technical quality control review process within the department.
Perform field work for condition assessments for a variety of structures.
Perform construction administration and oversight, reviewing submittals, responding to contractor’s questions and visiting job sites.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Registered PE (relo candidates must be willing to get registered in SC once hired on - T&H will pay for this to be done)
15+ years of experience in design of structures
Ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit to produce drawings.
Ability to mentor PEs and EITs.
Ability to manage assigned projects, including workload, resources, deadlines, and budgets.
Ability to interact with clients and contractors.
Experience designing a variety of structures, using a variety of materials.
Fluency with finite element modeling (primarily RISA and SAP2000), design programs and hand calculations.
Ability to use Mathcad to produce calculations.
