Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Terracon is currently looking for qualified inspectors/technicians to support our transportation focused team on CEI projects throughout North Carolina and South Carolina. As a Transportation Construction Services Technician with Terracon, you will work with a group of technicians and inspectors to provide construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services focused on municipal and state roadway projects.

Typical inspection and testing scope may include:

* Asphalt

* Concrete

* Earthwork

* Bridges and Culverts

* Erosion Control

* Pipe (CSP, DIP & RCP)

Day to Day:

* Communicate with project manager, senior technicians, contractor's representative and others as applicable regarding observations and results.

* Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in the form of written and digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal.

* Ability to read and interpret project plans, contract specifications, apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles.

* Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, and/or weekends, as required.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

* High school diploma or equivalent, AAS Civil Engineering Technology preferred.

* Minimum 2 years of relevant SCDOT inspection experience and certifications

* Ability to pass Drug and Background screening.

* SCDOT certifications in one or more of the following areas:

* Earthworks, Foundations, Concrete Field Levels I or II, QMS Roadway, Level II E&SC

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:

-A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited university may be substituted for experience
