Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an FEA Engineer to join the team of one of their top energy customers in Greenville, SC. This role is onsite Monday-Friday and hours are 7am-4pm. The FEA Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Design Use methods and templates for FEA Analysis of gas turbine hardware to confirm design capability (performance and durability).
Reviews - Develop presentations of FEA results and conduct peer reviews to confirm product life capability.
Application - Using FEA tools, make recommendations to improve gas turbine hardware life to meet durability requirements.
The candidate should have experience with Ansys Classic, APDL, and knowledge of thermal, structural, modal, and harmonic analysis, and APDL Material Card familiarity. Ansys workbench is helpful but not necessary for this role, and Python is a plus. Ideally this person will have experience with NX Unigraphics, both mechanical and routing modules. Additional skillsets that are plusses (not required) include: familiarity with design, analysis, and manufacturing of gas turbine combustion components like fuel nozzles, endcover, casings, caps, liners, transition pieces, flow sleeves, TP aft frames, crossfire tubes, and familiarity with design practices, lifing methods and tools.

Required Skills & Experience

Skillsets:
1+ years of experience with NX Unigraphics
3+ years experience with Ansys Classic FEA Tools
Good communication and presentation skills.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiarity with design, analysis, and manufacturing of gas turbine combustion components like fuel nozzles, endcover, casings, caps, liners, transition pieces, flow sleeves, TP aft frames, crossfire tubes.
Familiarity with GE design practices, lifing methods and tools.
