Insight Global is seeking an Accounting professional to join the finance division of a local client here in Charleston, SC. This is a contract-to-hire position, with the first 90 days onsite, then shifting to a hybrid work schedule. This person will report directly to the Finance Director and join a finance team of 15 people. This role will help with the accounting tasks and full-cycle management of government grants that the team is applying for. These grants will contribute to the overall revenue for the company. It is imperative that this person has applicable accounting experience with some experience or a willingness to learn about the government grant process.
Day to Day:
- Oversee the grant exploration, identification, submission and post-award accounting process for grants across 9 divisions
- Attend programmatic meetings relating to specific grants the team is applying for, and act as the finance representative in those conversations
- Keep accurate data and reporting of grant activity in the general ledger
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting on upcoming, active and past grants--knowing all details pertaining to the accounting side
- Assist with prospecting process for upcoming grants the team wants to apply for, and be a key player in the full cycle process from submission to closing out once the money has been used/allocated

- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent years of experience (4)
- 3 additional years of experience working in an accounting function
- Knowledge of accounting principles & practices
- Proficient in Excel
- Skilled in the use of analytics, data collection and management, detail-oriented
- High reading comprehension/ability to read through highly complex documents and identify pertinent information to then create action items from
