Job Description

Our client Pye-Barker: Fire & Safety is looking for a Field Engineer to join their team. This individual will be responsible for project oversight and management. This individual will be responsible for attending construction meetings, ensuring the proper team members are dedicated to tasks on the project, monitoring the timeline of projects including meeting deadlines. The Field Engineer will be reporting to the office 5 days a week and going to local project sites as well as travel once a month for approximately 5 -- 10 days to some of the states and countries listed below.

Day to day responsibilities:

* Working in office and on power plants and concrete/construction environment

* Overseeing projects

o Monitoring the duration, deadlines, making sure the proper staff on tasks, reporting/documentation

* Sitting in on construction meetings

* Review of drawings

* Travel:

o Going to local project sites

o Travel 1x/month for approx. 5-10 days

Required Skills & Experience

Must haves:

* 7 -- 10 years of related experience

* How to develop a project

o Beginning of construction phases, how to bring things to fruition

* Background in mechanical or electrical engineering

* Understanding of fire detection and national fire codes

* Leadership skills -- good verbal and written communication

* Electrical and mechanical background

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:

* Certifications: Nicet level 1 or higher

* Previous experience at Pye Barker competitors

* Manufacturer: Edwards System Technology (related systems accepted, ex. Notifier)

* Experience working with insurance agencies and other vendor/customer management.
