Insight Global is looking for a certified Special Education teacher for a local Charleston, SC Charter School. This individual will be the sole SPED teacher on facility, and will be working with a total of 25 students. These students will be split on two different schedules, so typically will have 10-15 students in a classroom. This is a 20 month substitute-teacher contract, with the last day of school 6/7/2024. Through the summer, you will work a modified school program, then start with the students in August 2024 for the new year. Monday-Thursday are instructional with students, and Fridays are for administrative tasks on site. Hours are 7:30-5:30p ET.
Daily Responsibilities:
* Plan, organize and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum
* Conduct pre and post-testing using standardized tests for each student
* As a part of a team, write and implement goals as outlined in each student's IEP
* Responsible to manage a student's behavior
* Demonstrate competency in all subject areas
* Participate in the identification of students with possible disabilities post intervention phase
* Provide direct student instruction and promote a positive learning environment
* Provide academic assessments
* Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed
* Schedule and chair IEP meetings including 30 day review IEP meetings for all students
* Meet special education timeline requirements as specified by State Education Code
* Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure success of student
* Work with Special Education Program Specialists and school support staff to support student
instruction
* Participate in authorized trainings, school events, and meetings
* Maintain documentation of communications with students, families, and other services providers
* Maintain documentation of daily activities
* Complete reports and forms as required
* Administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to
time
* Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university
* Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate for Special Education
* Prior experience working with exceptional learners strongly recommended
* Experience with High School or Middle School students.
