Insight Global is looking for an Automation Engineer to join the team of one of their top customers within the tire industry. This is an onsite position located in Greenville, SC. The team is looking for someone who can assist in updating their controls systems and replace the existing PLCs. The automation engineer is expected to have a strong understanding of circuit design/panel builds, and preferably experience doing this from scratch. Additionally, this candidate should have familiarity with Rockwell and Siemens, HMI development experience, and knowledgeable on how to configure drives and motors. This role travels about 20-30% of the time depending on projects and will mostly be within the US, however some projects are in Mexico. If the engineer has some project management skills and experience with vision systems, robotics and AGVs that would be preferred, but not needed for this position. The team has a strong culture so they are looking for someone who is curious to learn, a self-starter, and values teamwork. This role is typically M-F 7am-4pm.
4+ years experience in automation/controls engineer or technician position
Strong background in circuit design and panel builds
Experience with PLC programming standards (Rockwell, Siemens) from scratch
Knowledgeable on HMI configuration
Comfortable traveling as needed (~20-30%)
