Insight Global is looking for Mechanical Engineers located in Schenectady, NY. If there is work that can be done remotely without coming onsite, the team is flexible with partial remote. This role is with a large energy company and the team is looking for someone who is a self-starter and ready to learn. In this role, the main responsibilities include: assisting with the building of aircraft motor generator machines, documenting and developing processes, testing equipment and running tests such as shaker tables, and doing 3D Modeling. Experience with CAD Software such as Solidworks or NX is helpful. This engineer will also interface with suppliers and acquire quotes to get purchase orders submitted. Other projects will include tooling design and prototype design, along with documenting those processes. The team will be invested in training and development, but this role requires autonomous work and ability to be flexible with day-to-day projects as priorities often shift throughout the day. This role does not require analytical skills to analyze designs. Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (flex on start and end time).
Mechanical or electrical engineering background (associates, bachelor's degree, or real-world experience)
Technically/mechanically inclined
Experience with Solidworks, NX, or similar CAD software (either in school or professional exp.)
Basic program management skills and comfortability communicating with suppliers
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
