Job Description

What they will do:



Proactively develop procurement strategies, providing expert advice and obtaining stakeholder buy-in for current and future capital procurement needs while ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures.
Utilizing your strong problem solving and analytical skills, develop and implement practical sourcing and stakeholder engagement strategies. Align strategies with Capital program demand forecasts, work scope requirements, potential opportunities and risks, supplier and industry dynamics, and other business drivers.
Execute procurement sourcing activities, upholding the integrity of best procurement practice, while ensuring these practices are in accordance with Nutrien policies and procedures.
Develop tailored procurement strategies and contract execution plans in support of Project Management stage gate review processes.
Facilitate the sourcing of goods and services, including leading the RFx processes, reviewing scopes of work, establishing evaluation criteria, and commercial compensation structures. Lead bid evaluations, lead and support negotiations, and support contract execution through to closeout activities.
Responsible for drafting contract exhibits and participating in negotiation of terms and conditions.
Lead efforts for strategic alignment and procurement effectiveness with Category Management, other Procurement team members, and the business.
Manage the day-to-day contract related requests such as supporting contractor on-boarding requirements, change management activities, and claims management.
Prepare contract strategy documents, recommendations to award, and contract executive summaries.
Be a champion of Nutriens Diversity and Inclusion efforts regarding Indigenous engagement and inclusion.
Engage in peer leadership, coaching, and mentoring with team members across all potash site locations.

Required Skills & Experience

Proficiency in legal and commercial contract negotiations.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Strong commercial and business acumen.
Solid technical and analytical skills.
Proven track record in leading engagements or problem-solving with experience coordinating cross-functional teams.
Practical experience with enterprise asset management systems (SAP / Oracle) and spend management tools (Ariba).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
Targeted experience in competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract execution, supplier relationship management, spend analytics, and supplier risk management will be considered a strong asset.
Experience with contract management/administration, including invoice validation, contract interpretation, and claims management, will be considered an asset.
