Job Description
IG is seeking a Salesforce Technical Analyst to help IT take ownership of a Salesforce environment that has historically been managed by the business. This role will serve as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and IT, providing visibility into how the platform is currently configured, utilized, and supported.
Over time, Salesforce and several related solutions were built to address immediate business needs. The organization is now at a point where it needs to reverse engineer the environment to understand:
• What has been built
• Who is using it
• How it is being used
• Why it exists
The environment includes Salesforce Lightning, custom objects, Apex jobs, integrations, and additional business-managed solutions, including Microsoft Access databases and other internally developed tools. There are currently approximately 15–18 Salesforce administrators and power users supporting various aspects of the environment, but governance, documentation, and centralized ownership are limited.
The successful candidate will assess the current-state environment, document findings, identify risks and opportunities, and work with leadership on future support of the overall platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and document the current Salesforce ecosystem, including configurations, customizations, integrations, users, and business processes.
• Inventory Salesforce components including Salesforce Lightning, custom objects, workflows, reports, dashboards, Apex classes, Apex jobs, triggers, and scheduled processes.
• Analyze related business-managed applications, including Microsoft Access databases and third-party integrations such as Adobe DocuSign.
• Meet with business stakeholders, administrators, and end users to understand how Salesforce is being used and the business processes it supports.
• Identify gaps between current system usage, business needs, and platform best practices.
• Evaluate platform security, access controls, governance processes, and overall system health.
• Review current administration practices across approximately 15–18 administrators and power users.
• Develop recommendations for platform governance, IT ownership, change management, and future-state architecture.
• Partner with business and IT teams to establish standards for future enhancements, integrations, and support activities.
• Create documentation and a roadmap that enables IT to gain visibility, control, and long-term ownership of the platform.
