Job Description
Insight Global is hiring a Data Engineer to contribute to ongoing operational data workflows for a major healthcare partner. This individual will focus on supporting data ingestion and processing in a high‑volume healthcare environment. On a day‑to‑day basis, the engineer will work extensively with SQL and SSIS, reviewing and interpreting legacy SSIS packages, running heavy queries, and validating data accuracy across multiple processes. The team requires careful transformation, auditing, and verification to ensure strict HIPAA compliance and complete data isolation between clients. Much of the work is routine and detail‑oriented, with occasional data issues to troubleshoot, and includes validating that all components of existing SSIS packages are accurately maintained or migrated as part of ongoing platform transitions.

Required Skills & Experience
• 4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with a solid understanding of best practices and extensive experience working with SQL Server and SSIS
• Demonstrated experience performing in-depth data analysis, including writing and maintaining complex SQL queries
• Extensive experience working with SSIS packages, including:
○ Reading and interpreting existing SSIS packages
○ Understanding end-to-end package workflows and individual process steps
○ Reviewing and validating legacy SSIS packages to ensure accuracy and completeness
○ Confirming all processes within a package (e.g., multiple workflows) are properly migrated and aligned
• Prior experience supporting ETL processes, including:
○ Transforming inbound data files
○ Loading data into downstream systems
○ Developing, maintaining, and understanding complex SQL transformations
• Demonstrates strong diligence and attention to detail
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting client data ingestion processes, with a strong understanding of handling healthcare PHI/PII data
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Prior experience working with Snowflake
• Previous experience migrating data pipelines from SSIS to ADF
