Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a DevOps Engineer who will focus on vendor application deployments, Windows based automation, and CI/CD enablement in a heavily on prem environment. The role is hands on and execution focused, working closely with the existing team to standardize deployments and automate repetitive work.
The primary focus initially will be on the Claimxten, with longer term expansion into additional claims platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform software installation and configuration across Windows Server environments (2016 → 2022).
• Partner with release management and stakeholders to plan deployment windows and ensure approvals and readiness.
• Identify high volume, manual operational tasks (builds, deployments, configuration, weekly/bi weekly activities) and automate them.
• Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, and automation tools (GitHub)
• Reduce manual intervention and improve deployment consistency and time to restore.
• Support deployment automation across ~100 on prem servers, starting with smaller environments and scaling upward.

CI/CD & Self Service Enablement
• Maintain and enhance existing CI/CD pipelines used for vendor application deployments.
• Build self service deployment pipelines for internal customers and application teams.
• Ensure pipelines support secure, repeatable deployments aligned with release schedules.
• Pipelines are not currently integrated with ServiceNow; this role will execute deployments while adhering to change processes.

Operations, Reliability & Release Support
• Provide senior level troubleshooting for deployment, configuration, and automation failures.
• Improve operational hygiene by eliminating manual deployment steps and configuration drift.
• Support production go lives and scheduled release activity, including quarterly Saturday production deployments.
• Deployments in lower environments occur during business hours; production releases follow scheduled windows.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Automation, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
• Hands on experience deploying and supporting vendor / third party applications in on prem environments.
• Strong Windows Server experience (2016 / 2022), including installation and configuration.
• Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell required; Python/Bash preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and source control workflows (GitHub).
• Solid understanding of change and release processes in regulated or structured environments.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with Claimxten (Lyric) or other COTS claims platforms.
• Experience automating deployments across large server footprints.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, CMDB, or ITSM aligned deployment processes.
• Exposure to container platforms or cloud native concepts (not required).
