Insight Global is seeking a Maintenance Technician IV for it's chemical manufacturing client in East Providence, RI. The Maintenance Tech ensures the plant’s operational equipment remains safe, reliable, and properly maintained. This is a senior-level, hands-on role requiring broad technical expertise, sound troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in industrial maintenance and takes pride in mentoring and supporting peers, reinforcing a culture of collaboration, safety, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities will include the following.
General Maintenance and Operations:
• Independently diagnose and execute unscheduled repairs on manufacturing production and facility equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
• Follow and promote strict adherence to plant safety policies (e.g., PPE usage, Lock-Out Tag-Out, safe work permits).
• Perform and coordinate preventative maintenance (PMs) on a variety of mechanical and electrical and instrumentation (I&E) systems.
• Interpret and utilize technical drawings including wiring diagrams, P&IDs, schematics, and manuals.
• Support reliability efforts by identifying root causes of failures and participating in improvement initiatives and investigations.
• Contribute to project teams by providing technical feedback on equipment layout, constructability, and maintainability.
• Demonstrate the ability to coach or mentor fellow technicians in their area of expertise.

Major Electrical Responsibilities:
• Calibrate, test, and repair control systems and instrumentation involving pneumatic, electrical, and electronic components.
• Troubleshoot and maintain 480VAC and lower voltage equipment.
• Assist with Distributed Control System (DCS) support, including software/hardware troubleshooting and basic programming in partnership with the Process Control Engineer.

Major Mechanical Responsibilities:
• Perform advanced pipefitting using threaded, welded, and tubing connections.
• Execute welding and fabrication assignments.
• Set, align, and maintain rotating and stationary mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, conveyors, roll-to-roll transfer systems, and HVAC/air handling systems.

Required Skills & Experience
• Equivalent Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a heavy industrial maintenance role may be considered in lieu of the required certifications/licenses in the "nice to have" section
• Systems Knowledge: Proficient understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Technical Expertise:
o Strong Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) knowledge and implementation
o Proficient in interpreting and applying information from piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
o Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Independence: Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment.
• Team Support: Willingness and ability to teach and support fellow maintenance technicians in their development.
• Technology: Computer literate with the ability to learn and use maintenance software (e.g., CMMS systems).
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* One or more of the following—Electrical License, Plumbing License, HVAC Certification, Welding Certification.
* Chemical Manufacturing experience
