Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst/Data Steward to join our data management team. This role combines analytical expertise with data governance responsibilities, focusing on maintaining high-quality data assets while delivering actionable business insights. The ideal candidate will excel at data normalization, rationalization, and visualization to transform complex data into clear, accessible information that drives decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities include:
Data Analysis & Visualization
· Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to communicate insights effectively
· Transform raw data into meaningful visualizations that tell compelling data stories
· Apply statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in complex datasets
· Conduct ad-hoc analysis to answer specific business questions and support decision-making
· Develop automated reporting solutions to streamline analytical processes
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
Data Stewardship & Quality Management
· Implement and maintain data normalization processes to ensure consistency across databases
· Lead data rationalization initiatives to eliminate redundancies and consolidate data sources
· Establish and enforce data quality standards, policies, and procedures
· Create and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and business glossaries
· Monitor data quality metrics and implement improvement strategies
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve data discrepancies and quality issues
· Ensure compliance with data governance frameworks and privacy regulations
Technical Implementation
· Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis
· Develop Python scripts for data cleaning, normalization, and automated processing
· Design and implement data models that support both analytical and operational needs
· Create ETL processes to integrate data from multiple sources
· Document technical processes and maintain knowledge repositories

Compensation:
$40/hr to $55/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

· 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or related field
· Strong proficiency in SQL for complex data querying and manipulation
· Demonstrated experience with Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and dashboard creation
· Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and analysis
· Experience with data normalization techniques and database design principles
· Strong understanding of data quality management principles and practices
· Experience implementing data governance frameworks and standards
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

· Experience with data profiling and cleansing tools
· Knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehouse concepts
· Familiarity with master data management principles
· Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
· Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
· Experience with additional visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.)
· Knowledge of statistical analysis methods
Certification in data governance, Power BI, or data management
