Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an expert Senior Java GUI Developer with over 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and modernizing complex desktop applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with legacy Swing, modern JavaFX, and advanced 3rd party grid components (JIDE/similar). You will lead the migration of legacy applications to modern Java standards, implement automated testing, and use AI-powered coding assistants to improve efficiency. The ideal candidate will be located in Montreal or Toronto.

Required Skills & Experience
Languages: Strong Java (8, 11) proficiency.
GUI Frameworks: Deep experience Java Swing, Java FX (table view or gridpane) and/or advanced data grid swing libraries (ex. JIDE).
Strong skills in JUnit, Mockito, and TestFX.
Migration Experience: Proven ability to upgrade legacy applications (e.g., Java 8 to 17).
Version Control: Git.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
AI Tools: Experience with AI-powered coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Jetbrains).
Expertise in Maven and Gradle.
