Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Intermediate Flying Probe Electrical Technician to join a major Canadian space company. This technician will support the production, qualification, and validation of space‑grade electronic hardware through hands‑on operation of Flying Probe automated PCB test systems. The role is highly hands‑on, lab‑based, and focused on executing established test processes within a regulated manufacturing and testing environment.

Responsibilities / Tasks:
• Operate, configure, and calibrate Flying Probe automated PCB test equipment to support production and qualification testing.
• Prepare, set up, and verify electronic test benches and probe configurations based on approved procedures and technical documentation.
• Conduct functional and electrical testing of electronic assemblies and production units of intermediate complexity.
• Monitor test execution, analyze results, and identify potential issues related to boards, test setup, or equipment performance.
• Record and document test results, measurements, and observations in accordance with quality and traceability requirements.
• Support testing activities involving thermal and vacuum chambers for electronic units.
• Perform light maintenance and minor repairs on Flying Probe equipment, including inspections, cleaning, and cable verification.
• Update technical documentation, test procedures, and test records as required.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and engineering teams to investigate test failures and support issue resolution.
• Perform work in accordance with internal procedures and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Retrieve documents, parts, and test information using internal electronic systems (e.g., PLM, ERP).
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

- College diploma (DEC) or equivalent degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related technical discipline.
- 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in an electronics manufacturing or test environment
- Experience working with Flying Probe equipment or automated PCB test systems
- Experience performing functional and electrical testing of electronic assemblies using automated test equipment in a production or qualification environment
- Experience recording test data, documenting results, and following formal test procedures
- Ability to work in regulated lab/manufacturing environments while complying with safety and quality standards
- Must be eligible for Canadian Reliability Status, SECRET clearance, and the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
- Proficiency in French or willingness to learn

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience analyzing and interpreting test results to support troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Comfort working in lab environments including thermal or vacuum chambers
- Ability to generate test programs from CAD data, bills of material, and schematics
- Experience using PLM, ERP, or electronic document management systems
- Exposure to aerospace, electronics manufacturing, or mission‑critical hardware environments
- Working knowledge of English for collaboration with teams or stakeholders outside Québec
- Experience performing minor equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
