Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a VP of Engineering to sit fully remote for one of our Healthcare Operations clients. This person will serve as the senior technical leader and chief architect, with accountability for the engineering strategy and technical execution of a new proprietary software build. This individual will own the overall engineering roadmap, target architecture, data foundation, and technical standards to ensure the platform is scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with business priorities. The VP will act as the primary technical counterpart to the offshore engineering organization, providing oversight around delivery, capacity, estimates, staffing, quality, and performance. They will establish best practices for solution design, code quality, testing, documentation, releases, monitoring, reliability, and security while managing technical debt and balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform scalability. This role will partner closely with Product, Data, IT, business stakeholders, and external partners to define governance, decision rights, and roadmap tradeoffs based on business value, dependencies, capacity, and technical risk. The VP will also own the enterprise data and AI foundation needed to support reporting, analytics, automation, and future product capabilities, while giving executive leadership clear visibility into technology performance, risks, investment needs, and key decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including ownership of enterprise architecture, technical strategy, and software delivery teams
• Experience in regulated healthcare, government, financial services, or another complex enterprise industry environments
• Deep technical expertise across cloud platforms, APIs, integrations, data architecture, application development, and security
• Experience leading and governing offshore or outsourced engineering teams, including delivery oversight, quality, capacity planning, and performance management
• Strong background establishing engineering best practices for architecture, testing, releases, reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence
• Experience building scalable data platforms and leveraging data to support reporting, analytics, automation, and AI initiatives
• Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and translate technical decisions into business outcomes

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Practical AI experience, including identifying AI opportunities and establishing architecture, governance, and implementation standards
• Experience building or refining long-term engineering operating models, including determining what should be owned internally vs. outsourced
• Background supporting digital transformation, platform modernization, or improving technical maturity across an organization
