Job Description
This position will perform all preventative maintenance, repairs, calibration and equipment upgrades within the Thin Film Coating Department. Incumbent will follow outlined procedures and directions as documented. Projects will be reviewed and completed on task while keeping manufacturing downtime as low as possible. Special project work will be performed for Singapore, system upgrades, shop renovations, and the installation of new equipment as needed.
· Ensures equipment is operating properly by performing preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades to provide minimal equipment downtime or loss of production
· Completes assigned preventative maintenance tasks on schedule according to performance standards
· Understands project requirements and works to complete task with a high level of quality and workmanship in a timely manner
· Maintains coating system operation components to a high level of performance with minimal or no downtime
· Regularly and effectively communicates activities and projects to supervisor
· Assists in the development and upgrade of process equipment
· Stays abreast of new methods and procedures learning new skills as needed and makes recommendations to improve processes and/or equipment
· Monitors equipment operations to maintain proper operation levels of performance. Repairs and replaces as needed.
· All electrical equipment and controls work appropriately with minimal downtime
· All related maintenance and/or repairs are documented in the proper logs and spreadsheets
· Develop necessary skills to repair compressors, cryo pumps, e-beam guns, and other specialized coating equipment

Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
· Associates or technical degree in a mechanical field preferred or equivalent work experience
· 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance position
· Strong “hands on” mechanical abilities
· Ability to wear a full-face respirator and remain clean-shaven.
· Skilled in all mechanical applications including electric, plumbing, welding/sottering, metal working, mechanical tools, test instruments and general repairs
· Must be able to understand and operate all coating equipment
· Requires flexibility in work schedule including extended hours, weekends, holidays, and cell phone coverage as necessary to support a 24/7 operation
· Good understanding of high vacuum practices
