Job Description

A client of Insight Global’s is looking for a Junior Grants Manager to support the Department of Medicine’s Renal Division, with a strong focus on pre-award activities. This person will support a high-volume research portfolio within an academic medical center environment, partnering directly with Principal Investigators and research teams. Responsibilities include proposal and budget support, grant submissions, compliance review, coordinating with faculty and administrative teams, and assisting with post-award activities. The ideal candidate has hands-on exposure to grants administration but does not need to be a fully seasoned Grants Manager.

Required Skills & Experience

Academic, university, or academic medical center experience
Exposure to grants administration, sponsored research, or research finance
Experience supporting faculty and/or Principal Investigators (PI-facing)
Understanding of proposal development, budget preparation, or grant submissions
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
Experience working in a research-heavy environment

Former Penn employee
Department of Medicine experience
NIH or federal grant exposure
Pre-award experience
OMB Uniform Guidance knowledge
Cayuse, InfoEd, Workday Grants, or similar grant systems
