Job Description
We are seeking an Analytical Workflow Implementation Scientist to support the implementation and operationalization of automated analytical and purification workflows. This role sits at the intersection of analytical chemistry, automation, and laboratory systems integration. The successful candidate will help transition the laboratory from independent, manual analytical processes to a connected, automated ecosystem that supports high-throughput, data-driven small molecule discovery.
This is not a traditional bench analytical role and not an engineering repair role. The focus is on workflow orchestration, implementation readiness, and operational integration across multiple analytical and purification systems.
• Support the implementation of automated analytical workflows that enable the Design–Make–Test–Analyze (DMTA) cycle for small molecules.
• Translate analytical chemistry workflows into automation-ready, high-throughput laboratory processes.
• Support the transition from standalone instruments to a connected, orchestrated analytical ecosystem.
• Support implementation across a complex instrument environment including:
○ ~8 LCMS systems
○ ~5 purification systems
○ 1–2 RapidFire systems
• Assess readiness of analytical and purification systems for automated workflows.
• Participate in commissioning activities and provide scientific oversight during implementation.
*This role does not replace vendors or engineers and is not responsible for deep mechanical repairs. The focus is scientific enablement and workflow readiness, with escalation to vendors or engineering as appropriate.
Purification & Reformatting Workflow Support
• Provide hands-on scientific input into purification workflows and purification kit usage.
• Support purification and reformatting design studies and future-state workflow planning.
• Interface with external vendors (e.g., Labman) during implementation activities.
• Participate in FAT/SAT activities (exposure is sufficient; ownership not required).
Prioritize practical purification experience over formal commissioning ownership.
