Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support and optimize manufacturing operations at our New Britain, PA facility. This role is focused on troubleshooting automated equipment, modifying and developing PLC code, and supporting new machine installations to improve overall performance, reliability, and efficiency.
This engineer will work directly on the production floor, partnering with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve issues, implement automation improvements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This is not a pure programming role — we are looking for someone who can code and physically interact with machines to fix problems in real time.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a controls or automation engineering role in manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens)
- Strong experience with ladder logic
- Ability to troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical systems on the production floor
- Experience working with automated equipment and manufacturing systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with G&M coding (CNC or automotive background is transferable)
- Familiarity with HMI systems, sensors, drives, pneumatics, and vision systems
- Experience with Ignition (SCADA platform)
- Experience with CAD tools
- Project management experience or involvement in automation projects
