Position Overview
The CDL Class A Driver will support field operations by safely transporting materials, equipment, and crew resources to and from telecommunications construction sites throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. This role is critical to maintaining project schedules and ensuring safe, compliant delivery of construction materials in an active utility and telecom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate Class A commercial vehicles (flatbed, dump truck, lowboy, or tractor‑trailer) to transport telecom construction materials and equipment
Haul items such as conduit, fiber reels, vaults, cabinets, poles, and trenching/drilling equipment
Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; report mechanical or safety issues promptly
Secure and load materials in compliance with DOT and company safety standards
Coordinate with field supervisors, construction crews, and dispatch to meet project timelines
Deliver and pick up materials from job sites, yards, and suppliers across the Philadelphia metro area
Maintain accurate driver logs, ELDs, and delivery documentation
Assist with light labor or jobsite support when not driving (as needed)
Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, and company safety policies

Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
Current DOT Medical Card
Minimum 2+ years of commercial driving experience (construction or utility preferred)
Experience hauling heavy equipment or construction materials
Familiarity with DOT regulations, load securement, and Hours of Service (HOS)
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Preferred Qualifications
Telecommunications, utility, or underground construction experience
Flatbed, dump truck, or lowboy hauling experience
Air Brake endorsement (if not already included)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
Forklift or heavy equipment operation experience
